Cosmos developers have patched a critical security bug in the Cosmos Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol that had put at least $126 million at risk.

Cosmos developers have successfully rectified a critical security vulnerability in its Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol, which had placed assets worth at least $126 million in jeopardy, following a private notification from Asymmetric Research.

IBC has always had the bug but it only recently became exploitable due to developments in the protocol's codebase, Asymmetric Research said.

The reentrancy bug was discovered by Asymmetric Research, a core contributor to the Wormhole interoperability protocol.
