US Craves 3 Years Jail For Binance Founder Zhao


In a court filing on Tuesday, April 23, U.S. prosecutors said that Binance founder Changpeng Zhao should serve 36 months in prison over the allegations of violating the anti-money laundering laws (AML). As per the latest reports, Zhao, who stepped down as the Binance chief last November, will face the sentence on April 30.

In November, Zhao pleaded guilty to violating and causing a financial institution to violate the Bank Secrecy Act.

Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, founder and former CEO of Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange, faces a potential three-year prison sentence.

Changpeng Zhao, the founder of Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, should serve 36 months in prison after pleading guilty to violating laws against money laundering, U.S. prosecutors said in a court filing on Tuesday.

Attorneys with the U.S. Department of Justice and former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao filed their sentencing memos on Tuesday night.
