About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer to join our team. Reporting into the CFO, as the Finance Manager, The successful candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with a focus on transaction processing, monthly closing, project cost allocation, and VAT submission. This individual will also be responsible for managing the audit process, maintaining a good control environment, and setting up the finance and accounting framework.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the transaction processing, payroll, monthly closing, project cost allocation, and VAT submission processes for multiple entities.
• Manage the audit process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for all entities and audits.
• Maintain and improve the control environment, including implementing and updating policies and procedures
• Set up finance and accounting frameworks for new ventures, including bank accounts, VAT registration, chart of accounts, and system implementation
• Prepare financial statements for all legal entities, including consolidations
• Resolve complex accounting issues under IFRS, including writing accounting papers
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transaction processing and review
• Oversee cash flow forecasting and budgeting
• Manage and develop a team of accountants
• Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure efficient financial operations and compliance
• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
• Lead corporate tax implementation for companies as appropriate

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant with ACCA/CPA/CA certification
• Proven experience in implementing accounting systems, chart of accounts, and reporting frameworks
• Strong background in implementing policies and procedures
• Solid experience in financial statement preparation for all legal entities, including consolidations
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with new ventures
• Skilled in resolving complex accounting issues under IFRS, including writing accounting papers
• Proficient in cash flow forecasting and budgeting
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• High level of attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Knowledge of relevant accounting software and systems
