So: Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta = EVM-equivalence, for frictionless deployment. Ready to try it out and start building? Head over to the Wiki to get started: https://t.co/OUKq9dy3no

Other zkEVMs are designed to be EVM-*compatible*–a distinction worth unpacking. Without bytecode-level compatibility, Ethereum smart contracts must be recompiled before deployment. Compilers increase attack surfaces, but also friction for developers.

From a technical standpoint, EVM-equivalence means compatibility with the EVM at a bytecode level. There’s no need to recompile EVM smart contracts, because bytecode-level compatibility means support for languages like Solidity. That’s frictionless scaling.

In simple terms, EVM-equivalence means devs who build on Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta should feel just like they're building on Ethereum, only cheaper, and with a bridge. Early developer experiences already bear out why EVM-equivalence is important. https://t.co/5Ib2QftpaL

To be EVM-equivalent or not to be: that is a fundamental design question ZK L2 teams have had to address when building zkEVMs. Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta IS EVM-equivalent. But what does that mean, and why is it important? 👇🏾

Copy-pasting your code—yes, it’s that easy Scaling is smoother than teflon with EVM-equivalence. @gateway_eth was able to port their public RPC in six minutes: https://t.co/9LTQMymifN

Once you confirm the transaction to deploy the contract, you can check the status by pasting the transaction hash into the block explorer, built by Etherscan: https://t.co/IP9qYTuTaJ
