About your role

Further Ventures is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented candidates to join the team as an Investment Associate. As an Investment Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the investment team in conducting due diligence, financial analysis, and portfolio management. The ideal candidate should have strong conceptual and analytical problem solving skills, be proficient with the MS Office suite, be able to ramp up quickly on new topics, and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity.

Responsibilities:

• Support founders of portfolio companies in strategic and operational areas such as developing and validating business plans, structuring cap tables, and developing the story to be pitched to investors.
• Perform due diligence on potential investments, including financial analysis and modeling
• Prepare investment memos and reports for review by the investment committee
• Conduct research and prepare white papers / knowledge articles
• Develop a performance monitoring system to track performance of portfolio companies and provide regular updates to the investment team
• Support investment team in preparing presentations for external stakeholders from time to time

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
• Experience in the venture capital or private equity industry is a plus
• Strong proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to prepare financial models from scratch
• Ability to analyse financial statements and provide opinions on opportunities
• Good problem solving skills and ability to pick up new concepts quickly
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
