About the Role

Fuze Finance is seeking an experienced and dynamic lawyer with experience in payment services and digital assets. Reporting directly to the Co-founders, this position will lead a fast-paced start-up's commercial, regulatory, and corporate governance portfolio.

To succeed in this role, candidates should be mature, self-motivated, independent, and well-organized, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Identify business areas that needs to be in compliance with regulatory across all countries
• Continuously monitor compliance with regulatory and share audit reports with the leadership team on compliance with regulations.
• Partner with cross-functional and regional teams and provide support on legal matters of varying complexity, sensitivity, and tangibility
• Assist in handling ongoing litigations, arbitrations, and investigations
• Manage legal efforts in response to contentious inquiries, including pre-litigation and regulatory matters, encountered by the company and internal stakeholders
• Take prudent risks within the context of the overall business, and advise and implement solutions to address issues identified
• Be responsible for drafting and reviewing litigation and arbitration documents, including discovery responses, dispositive motions, expert reports, and settlement agreements
• Provide proactive, in-depth, commercially sensible legal advice to all stakeholders
• Review all contractual agreements and assess potential legal implications which need to be brought to management's attention
• Negotiate, review and draft documentation for business transactions whenever required.

About You

• Qualified lawyer with demonstrable experience of commercial, regulatory and corporate litigation
• Knowledge of financial products, crypto, and digital assets is a strong plus.
• Strong academics and training, including legal drafting and negotiating, and relationship management
• Experience handling disputes for traditional financial institutions and cryptocurrency organizations is highly preferred.
• Experience with handling regulatory inquiries, requests for information, and investigations is preferred.
• Possesses solid legal technical expertise as well as sound business and people judgment sense
• Hands-on at work and can be independent in managing complex projects
• Can develop relevant and creative solutions to handle risks and manage disputes
