As the first ever nationally chartered digital asset bank, we are seeking a BSA Officer who will help Anchorage Digital design, build, implement, and administer a BSA/AML and Sanctions Compliance Program tailored for the digital asset industry. The BSA Officer will be joining the senior leadership team within the Bank to drive innovative processes and solutions to ensure full compliance with BSA/AML regulations.
As BSA Officer you will:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance BSA/AML and OFAC sanctions compliance program that is aligned with the Bank’s business and risk parameters, is consistent with industry standards, and meets regulatory expectations.
- Develop thorough understanding of the business, risks, and processes with respect to AML and sanctions compliance and monitor the regulatory environment for emerging legislation and policy statements, along with industry trends, market developments, and best practices relating to sanctions compliance.
- Work with the Sanctions Lead to maintain an appropriate and sound OFAC compliance program for the Bank’s U.S. operations to help ensure that the Bank is adhering to relevant federal and state laws and regulations.
- Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and controls across the
- Organization; taking appropriate and swift action in amending existing policies, procedures, practices, training, and other controls in response to changing regulatory requirements and regulatory expectations.
- Provide regular reports and communication on the state of the program to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Work with the Sanctions Lead to ensure that sanctions screening is comprehensive, that alert review/escalation/decision processes are in place, that there are appropriate procedures for screening high-risk customers, and that lists used in screening are appropriate and current.
- Ensure any required regulatory reporting is submitted in a timely manner.
- Ensure that information regarding AML and sanctions violations is effectively communicated to senior management and appropriate regulatory authorities in a timely manner.
- Develop and deliver appropriate risk-based training programs for personnel.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
- ACAMS or similar industry certification (required)
- Minimum 15 years of experience with BSA/AML and sanctions compliance at a U.S. banking institution.
- Prior experience with interacting with senior management in a BSA/AML leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC sanctions regulations, particularly as they relate to trust operations and crypto currency.
- Aptitude to collaborate and work well with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated success operating in a fast-paced environment, as well as under situations without clear structure
- Capacity to prioritize effectively and multitask as necessary.
- Experience with blockchain analytics tools
